First in France: a construction site made entirely with ACT1 low carbon cement
ECOCEM
Project context
First in France for Ecocem with this construction site entirely made from ACT1 cement for the construction of the Parker & Baker program for Legendre Immobilier, led by the construction teams of the Legendre Group.
In line with environmental regulations RE 2020, the Chessy (77) program consists of 147 housing units and 4 houses, 9000m3 of concretes based on ACT1 cement produced with a mobile concrete plant on site.
Developed solutions and targeted uses
The Ecocem ACT technology achieves up to 70% reduction in cement carbon footprint compared to the European average. The results show identical use, performance and quality to standard products:
- 4 formulas of developed concrete to meet all exposure and resistance class constraints.
- A preparatory phase of extensive testing and testing to validate the mechanical performance of formulas, especially for the winter period upstream of the construction site.
- Enhanced site monitoringhas dedicated technical support for regular quality control of concretes and conformity validation.
- Concrete conforms the expectations and the constraints of operating the site.
- A significant direct reduction in the carbon impact of the site The use of ACT technology has helped to reduce the carbon footprint of concretes in the yard by half compared to usual uses.
Conclusion
This project marks a milestone in the decarbonisation of the construction sector in France and globally.
