LIBAROT® project on a project site in the Paris region
Eiffage Route and BUILDERS Engineering School
The yard
The LIBAROT® project, launched in 2023 to develop a low-carbon road hydraulic binder based on shellfish co-products, reduces the carbon impact of road infrastructure. The experimental site at Monthyon (77) in March 2025, subsidized by the Île-de-France region, consists of a 200-metre long and 5-metre wide roadway. It allowed us to test this innovative binder in real-life situations and to compare it with a classic binder.
Using an innovative hydraulic binder
Patented in November 2024, the innovative hydraulic binder is made up of 80% co-products and recycled materials (including 40% crushed scallop shells) and has a carbon impact divided by four in relation to conventional portland cement.
It is used here as part of a zero-waste pavement reprocessing project marked by the reuse of the existing structure. A reprocessing in place and an example of upgrading made possible by the intervention of the ARC 600® Road Reprocessing Workshop in Eiffage Route.

Chantier de la Croix Verte : valorisation de grave de mâchefer
VEOLIA
With eight roundabouts and six kilometres of shoulder straps, the Green Cross interchange links the A16 motorway to the Francilienne - RN104. It is one of the most important road nodes in the Val-d的Oise. Open to traffic at the end of 2019, who imagines riding on roads made, in part, of recycled materials? Because, under the carriageway, 70,000 tons of grave New·O make up the shape layer. This recycled granulate comes from the recovery of chewer material, a solid residue of energy recovery of non-hazardous waste.
