Resumed drafting of the guide « Environmental acceptability of Alternative Materials in Planning »

Drafting the Guide « Environmental acceptability of Alternative Materials in Planning » resumes after a break that lasted several months. AFOCO participates in this project, under the joint direction of Cerema and the Directorate General for Risk Prevention, under the Ministry of the Environment.

Importance of the methodological guide

This guide is of crucial importance since it is the methodological guide, which will establish guidelines for the use of alternative materials in all planning operations. Its main objective is to assess their environmental and health acceptability, thus covering a wide range of applications, including building platforms, industrial or agricultural, as well as works within their right-of-way.

Promotion of responsible use of alternative materials

The creation of this new methodological guide is a fundamental step in encouraging responsible use of alternative materials developed from alternative materials in various planning operations. In addition, this guide will form the basis for the development of specific application guides. These application guides will be adapted to the main alternative materials, thus providing a complete reference for their recovery.

Commitment to sustainability

This comprehensive approach reflects the Government's continued commitment to the transition to more sustainable management practices, while promoting waste reduction and environmental protection. The reactivation of this project marks a significant step towards creating a solid reference for the use of alternative materials in development operations in France.
