The IMT North Europe CERI MP, in addition to participating in the training of the School's engineering students, is a research centre dedicated to industry.
Research themes focus on:
- the development of alternative materials (milk, fly ash, MIDND, sands and gravel of recycled concrete or bricks, marine and river sediments, sludge, excavated land, bio-sourced materials ...) in the field of Civil Engineering;
- the development of low carbon binders;
- study of the durability of building materials;
- environmental impact of building materials.
In the Civil Engineering section of CERI MP, the team has 25 permanent (Researcher teachers, engineers, technicians, secretaries) and about 25 non-permanent (post-docs, doctoral students, masters, trainees).
CERI MP has several laboratories including the mechanical pole, the process and prototyping pole, the chemistry pole, the physical analysis pole, the microscopy pole, the microbiology pole.
IMT North Europe CERI MP (contact Dr David BULTEEL) is open to help industrialists in their research projects to enhance their alternative materials in the field of Civil Engineering (constructions, roads, etc.).
Research projects:
- The Interreg NWE CIRMAP project: development of cement binders based on recycled concrete sands for 3D printing of concrete urban furniture; durability vis-à-vis the alkali-granulat reaction, salt attack (sulphates, chlorides)...
- The Ecosed Chair: Development of dredging sediments in Civil Engineering.
- The Interreg FWVL VALDEM project: development of binders based on concrete and brick recycled aggregates; durability against sulfatic attack; formulations of cement binders and alkali-activated milk-based materials for low carbon binders.
