Areas of expertise and expertise

Manufacture and recycling of paper, energy production

To meet the fumes needs of the paper process, plant operates its own biomass boiler and collaborates with GVE,oint-venture managing another installed biomass boiler North of its site Industrial . The fuels of these boilers are its own process wastes, called desinking sludges, as well as non-hazardous treated demolition wood (end-of-life wood) and plastic residues (contaminants from raw materials).

Norske Skog Golbey is also at the initiative of the industrial and territorial ecology projects developed around the Green valley and the Ecoparc. In fact, by proposing to pool some of its know-how (wood purchases in particular) and certain infrastructures or utilities (Vapour treatment station), the company allowed the installation of Eurorail (rail logisticsian), Pavatex (particle board manufacturer) and GVE (biomass boiler).

Key figures

Employment: 360 CDI
Production 2024: Paper: 277 100 tonnes

Raw materials:
Composition: 100% recycled fibre (recycling paper)
Origin: France (91.5%)

Boiler combustion residues, valued in construction
8 000 tonnes of ash under fire
20 000 tonnes of ash

Alternative materials and their applications

Biomass boiler combustion residues (flying ashes). These lime-rich materials come from the incineration of waste de-inking processes (paper mills) that are rich in calcium.

  • Benefits: lime richness, water hardening.
  • Environmental benefits: zero carbon footprint

Together, we can create a sustainable future and promote responsible innovation.
