EDF is an energy provider committed to putting economic, social, societal and environmental dimensions at the heart of its strategy.
In line with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, EDF's CSR commitments each have a strong ambition around four issues: carbon and climate neutrality, well-being and solidarity, preservation of the planet's resources, responsible development. In particular, the company undertakes to limit its environmental footprint throughout the life cycle of its facilities and activities by optimizing the use of natural resources. Ash recovery as a substitute for natural materials is fully part of these issues.
With 93% of its production of carbon-free electricity in 2023, the EDF Group is now the world's leading producer of low-carbon electricity and continues its ambition to contribute to carbon neutrality by 2050.

Quality and environmental benefits
Coal ash has been used for nearly a century without any negative environmental impact. They are a material that can be used in road techniques or for cement/betons. They replace natural resources and contribute to the decarbonization of construction sites. They can be used as binders thanks to their puzzolanic qualities.
