Ecocem,European independent leader in low carbon cements, committed for 25 years to accelerate the transformation of construction through cement and concrete for a more sustainable future. Ecocem proposesa full range of reduced carbon footprint cements and bindersinnovative for more sober constructions.

Ecocem produces and distributesin France (Dunkerque and Fos-sur-Mer), the Netherlands and Ireland, providing each yearmore than 2 million tonnes of cements and low carbon binders.

Its ambition: drastically reduce CO2 emissions from the cement and concrete industry by 2030.

Since its creation in 2000, Ecocem has produced22 million tonnes of low carbon solutions and thus avoided 18 million tonnes of CO2 emissions.

Ecocem solutions

  • Low carbon cements and mineral additions
  • Blast furnace ground milk

Key figures

  • 4 production sites
  • 232 million € turnover in 2024
  • 2.4 million tonnes of cements and mineral additions produced per year
  • 220 employees

Alternative materials

Ecocem ground slagis a high-performance alternative to conventional cement (the so-called Portland) that increases the technical performance of applications, strengthens the aesthetic side of concretes and significantly reduces their impact on the environment.

The ground slag is a co-product of the manufacture of cast iron. It is used in combination with a small amount of Portland cement to produce a more durable concrete, of superior quality, and with fine and clear trimmings.

Ecocem ground slag is an industrial co-product and valued for becoming a raw material. At the end of the melting process, the molten blast furnace slag is soaked in water quickly to form granulated milk. The latter is then dried and finely ground at our sites atFos-sur-Mer and Dunkirk, to produce Ecocem ground milk.

Quality and environmental benefits

  • A carbon weight of 102 kg CO2/T eq for Fos-Sur-Mer and 106 kg CO2/T eq for Dunkirk
  • Longer lifespan of works
  • Careful and clear finish of your rough trimmings
  • Prevention of cracking
  • Improved resistance
  • Increased sustainability

Together, we can create a sustainable future and promote responsible innovation.
